What We Are Doing and Why
We are building on existing infrastructure
We are making broad-based comprehensive and sustainable change.
We are measuring performance: both process and outcome.
We are working with workgroups, partnering with organizations, community-based corrections, institutions and the offender reentry taskforce to help tackles recidivism problems.
We are working toward the goal of increasing public safety and reducing victimization.
Goal: To reduce recidivism to 22% in 2 years and reduce recidivism to 20% in 5 years.

Who is Doing This?
Previously stated, we are working with workgroups, partnering with organizations, community-based corrections, institutions and the offender reentry taskforce to help tackles recidivism problems. Workgroups are made up of individuals from different districts, organizations and the Iowa Department of Corrections that come together to discuss the 5 proposals. The different organizations that we are partnering with include National Alliance for Mental Illness, Iowa Department of Public Health and Iowa Department of Human Services, The Offender Reentry Taskforce is made up of various agency representation across the state that help to guide and oversee the implementation process.
How Are We Doing This?
This pyramid structure is that pathway of how we are structuring and implementing policies and procedures.
